Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012, when she dropped her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her independent single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the season, the music was circulating around Dreamville. On December 8 it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she supported by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. On the 9th of November the singer released two new singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles entitled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single in February 2019 for her debut album of the same title. This track, which was released with a video on YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than three million times over the first seven days. In December 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
